Top 3 asthma resolutions
1. Book an asthma review
An annual asthma review is a chance to update your asthma action plan and check your inhaler technique. Make sure you’ve got yours booked in.
2. Start using an asthma action plan
If you haven’t got one yet, now’s the time to download an asthma action plan. Ask your GP or asthma nurse to fill it in with you.
Using an action plan could cut your risk of ending up in hospital with an asthma attack, which means you can start the year managing your symptoms better.
3. Get into a good asthma routine
Start the new year with a routine where you’re taking your preventer medicines every day as prescribed. If you do this, you’ll cut your risk of symptoms and an asthma attack. If you have trouble remembering, try keeping your preventer inhaler next to something you use every day like your hairbrush or car keys.
If you manage your asthma well, you can look forward to the year ahead without symptoms getting in the way.
