Having a child with asthma or suspected asthma can have a big impact on the whole family. Meeting with other families in a similar situation can be helpful and comforting. Our Parent Carer Support Network is a safe and friendly place to talk to other people who understand.
Our free online workshops and face to face support groups are open to anyone who looks after a child with asthma. This could include parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles. You can chat to experienced doctors and nurses and ask any questions you like. You can also learn about the latest information and advice on how to manage your child’s asthma.
When your child is diagnosed with asthma, or their asthma gets worse, it can be very scary and overwhelming. It is important to talk about your feelings and experiences with others. You are not alone, and we are here for you.
Free online workshops
In 2025, we are holding a series of online workshops for children and young people with asthma, and their parents and carers. Each workshop has a different topic and is organised by our kind and knowledgeable healthcare professionals. You can turn your camera on and talk to others or leave your camera off and just listen. All children and young people must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Click the button to find out more.
Face to face support groups
We are working in your community to plan free face to face support groups for parents and carers of children with asthma. Come along and meet local kind and knowledgeable healthcare professionals. The whole family is welcome for fun games, arts and crafts, snacks, and drinks. Find out if we have a group in your area.
Affiliated Support Groups
We think it’s important to champion other local groups and organisations who are helping children with respiratory illnesses and conditions. Find out if there’s an affiliated group near you.
