Order Asthma + Lung UK printed health advice resources
Like many other charities, we are battling rising costs. As a result, we've had to carefully review our spending. Unfortunately, from now on, we will need to pause offering free copies of printed leaflets and booklets to healthcare professionals and patients until the end of Asthma + Lung UK’s financial year in June. We know that for some people in overlooked and excluded communities, printed information booklets and leaflets may be very important. We are looking at ways to ensure that in future we can make the most vital items available to these communities for free.
While we seek additional funding to cover the cost of printing our resources, we had planned to move to a bespoke ordering model where healthcare professionals could order printed copies of our resources. However, we found that even providing the service at cost price resulted in much higher quotes from our printing providers than expected and did not offer a good deal for healthcare providers. We are also not set up to effectively manage this service. So, we have regretfully decided not to pursue it moving forward in the short term and are reviewing our options.
You can still access our booklets and leaflets for your patients for free in the following ways:
- You can print out our resources yourself – we are working on making them all more ‘printer-friendly’ and estimate this process will be completed by December this year.
- You can download digital copies of our resources and email them.
- If you are a healthcare professional, our full range of asthma action plans can be downloaded from Ardens, so if you use SystmOne or EMIS you will find them there. This means that you’ll be able to complete them with your patients, upload them to their records, and email or print them. We hope to add more of our resources in future.
- And don’t forget that all our health information and advice is available on our website.
If you or your patients need help working out which information pages are right for you, please call our helpline on 0300 222 5800. We would be pleased to help you with this, or any other lung condition support you need.
We know this will be frustrating news for many of you. If you have any questions or would like to share your feedback, we’d be very happy to hear from you. You can email us at info@asthmaandlung.org.uk
