Lung conditions are the third biggest killer in the UK, yet only 2% of the country’s public health research funding is spent on lung health. This lack of funding limits opportunities for bright young researchers to work in that field and slows down crucial breakthroughs.

Asthma + Lung UK is dedicated to supporting the brightest minds in lung health research, keeping them in the field, and accelerating their work. Science offers hope to those living with lung conditions, but consistent funding is crucial to sustain this vital research.

We’re working with the smartest scientists to push lung health research forward. So far our research has led to new treatments for COPD, improved diagnosis of lung problems in pre-school children, and better treatments for people with severe asthma.

But we know there’s still so much to do. And the longer it takes, the more people will suffer, and die.
