Making the most of your fundraising
Selling tickets is a great way to start raising money, here are some ideas to boost your fundraising:
- Keep your audience and performers happy by selling refreshments. Celebrate in style by selling refreshments, a choice of wines, beers and soft drinks will keep everyone happy.
- Don't forget to have a collection box for people to donate their small change or you could invest in a card reader if your choir doesn’t already have one.
- Who doesn’t love a raffle? It’s always a fun way to help raise extra cash at your event. The better the prizes, the more entries so ask family, local businesses and anyone else you can think of to donate prizes.
- Sell our pin badges to boost your sales on the night.
After your event
Follow up with everyone by thanking them and letting them know how much you raised together for Asthma + Lung UK. Then get in touch with us to arrange sending us the generous proceeds.
Reflect on what you’ve achieved and be proud of the difference you and your choir have made to everyone with a lung condition in the UK.
Things to remember
- If you want to provide or sell food and drink at an event, The Food Standards Agency has more information about food safety for voluntary and community events and you can also get advice from food safety officers at your local council.
- Remember, if you intend to serve alcohol, you'll need to obtain a Temporary Events Notice. If you are in England and Wales you can apply online. In Scotland you can apply online for an occasional licence. Alternatively, you can download the postal form and guidance for a temporary event notice.
- There are a few simple guidelines you need to meet to run a raffle.
